How the travel theme works

When a Word Duel spins ✈️ Travel, the hidden word comes from a trip: transport (TRAM, KAYAK, GONDOLA), places to stay (MOTEL, HOSTEL, COTTAGE), sights (CASTLE, PYRAMID, MUSEUM), and the journey itself (TICKET, LUGGAGE, BORDER). Hearts mode gives a clue for every word, like "Boat that carries cars across" or "Ancient tomb in Egypt".

Tips for travel words

  1. Ask "how, where, what". How do you travel (vehicles), where do you sleep (lodging), what do you see (landmarks)? Most words fall into one of the three.
  2. Air travel has its own set: PLANE, PILOT, FLIGHT, RUNWAY, AIRPORT, AIRLINE, COCKPIT, GLIDER.
  3. Spot the compounds: SUBWAY, RAILWAY, HIGHWAY, FREEWAY, SEAPORT, SKYLINE. A green -WAY narrows it fast.
  4. Doubles to remember: FERRY, TUNNEL, LUGGAGE, BAGGAGE, TROLLEY and VILLAGE all repeat a letter.
