How an animal duel works
Every Word Duel starts with three spinning reels. When the first one stops on 🐾 Animals, the hidden word is an animal — a pet, a farm animal, a bird, a sea creature or something from the savanna. You see the theme on screen the whole time, so every guess can be an animal too.
- Classic: one animal, 6 guesses — fewest guesses wins.
- Hearts: three animals in a row, each with a clue like "Walks sideways on the beach".
- Open Book: you see each other typing — race to the animal first.
The reels pick one of ten themes at random, so you'll meet animals in about one duel in ten — and in party rooms with friends.

Tips for guessing animal names
- Think in groups. Once you know the length, run through birds, big cats, sea life and farm animals. Five letters? TIGER, EAGLE, SHARK, SHEEP, OTTER…
- Watch for animal endings. Many longer names end in -ER (PANTHER, HAMSTER, LOBSTER), -AH (CHEETAH) or -IN (DOLPHIN, PENGUIN).
- Double letters are common: RABBIT, PARROT, KITTEN, RACCOON, GORILLA. A gray duplicate tells you the letter appears only once.
- Expect the unusual Y and W. HYENA, LYNX, WALRUS, WEASEL — if the vowels are all gray, try a word with Y.
For teachers and parents
